IE 628 Management Information System in Manufacturing                                              3(3-0-6)

Prerequisite : -

   

Introduction to management information systems. Organization foundations of information system, data base systems and decision supporting system.  Analyzing and designing information system. System testing and maintaining.  Implementation of MIS to industry.

 


Objectives:

1.) Teach students to analyze the information needs of knowledge workers and managements as well as how information systems, such as decision support systems, expert systems, and others, might aid in the decision making process.

2.) Provide students with an understanding of the use of information systems to gain competitive advantage through the management of information as an organizational resource.

3.) Provide an overview of the uses of information by organizational subsystems, such as operations, finance, marketing, and human resources.

4.) Enable students to understand the role of information technology in the acquisition, production, and distribution of goods, services throughout the economy.

5.) Prepare students for identifying, analyzing, and proposing possible information systems
